Teaching

Max graduated from St John’s College, Oxford, where he was Organ Scholar, with a degree in Modern Languages. He now enjoys a blossoming career as a freelance conductor, accompanist and educator in the London area.

Educational work forms an important part of Max’s career. He works on a weekly basis with the chamber choir at Pembridge Hall School, Notting Hill. He works on Eton Choral Courses in UK and China, and has been Assistant Musical Director of the National Youth Choir of Wales, and on the music staff for National Children’s Choir.

He was Director of Thames Youth Choir (a mixed-voice youth choir at Tiffin School) Accompanist and Assistant Director of Tiffin Boys’ Choir, and has been a visiting lecturer at Trinity Laban, where he was Organ Scholar and Assistant Director of the Old Royal Naval College Chapel Choir. He was previously a Choral Animateur for Westminster Cathedral’s Outreach Programme.

He has worked as a piano / organ accompanist for Wimbledon High School, Putney High School, Surbiton High School, Willington School, Shrewsbury House School, and King’s School, Wimbledon and Merton Music Foundation.

ABRSM Exam Accompanying: Max is an experienced accompanist for music exams and auditions and is happy to be hired do this on a one-off basis.
