Teaching

Max was a chorister at King’s College, Cambridge and Organ Scholar at St John’s College, Oxford, where he studied Modern Languages (German) and was responsible for directing the chapel choir. He was a scholar at the Stiftung Maximilianeum, Munich and studied choral conducting at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater, Munich, where he studied with Michael Glaeser and Andreas Herrmann.

Max now enjoys a blossoming career as a freelance conductor, accompanist and educator in the London area.

Educational work forms an important part of Max’s career. He is a Choral Animateur for Westminster Cathedral’s Outreach Programme, where he coaches choral singing in Catholic primary schools. In addition, he is the director of the chamber choir at Pembridge Hall School, Notting Hill. He was Director of Thames Youth Choir, Accompanist and Assistant Director of Tiffin Boys’ Choir, and has been a visiting lecturer at Trinity Laban. He works annually on the Eton Choral Courses, and has been Assistant Musical Director of the National Youth Choir of Wales, and on the music staff for National Children’s Choir.

ABRSM Exam Accompanying: Max is an experienced accompanist for music exams and auditions and is happy to be hired do this on a one-off basis
